Volunteer Process & Guidelines

Welcome to the WiseRighteous Network Volunteer Community

Thank you for your interest in serving with WiseRighteous Network.

Our volunteers contribute their time, knowledge, creativity, and skills to support our mission of strengthening individual and organizational righteousness through wisdom.

We want the volunteer experience to be simple, meaningful, and well organized. This page explains what you can expect after expressing interest in volunteering with us.

Our Volunteer Process

1. Express Your Interest

Start by contacting us through our Volunteer page or by email.

Please tell us:

  • Your name and your email
  • What you are interested in helping with
  • Your skills or experience, if relevant
  • Any questions you may have

You do not need to know exactly which project you want to do. We can help identify opportunities that match your interests and skills.

2. Volunteer Registration

For ongoing or recurring volunteer service, we may ask you to complete a basic volunteer registration.

The registration helps us understand your:

  • Interests
  • Skills and experience
  • Availability
  • Preferred areas of service
  • Volunteer goals

Register as a Volunteer

If you are ready to volunteer, you can complete our Volunteer Registration Form.

For a simple one-time project, registration may be limited to the information needed for that particular assignment.

You do not need to know exactly which project you want to do before registering. We can help identify opportunities that match your interests, skills, and availability.

3. Orientation

Before beginning a volunteer assignment, we provide the information needed to understand:

  • WiseRighteous Network and the mission of the relevant subprogram or project
  • The volunteer’s responsibilities
  • Expected deliverables
  • Communication procedures
  • How volunteer hours are recorded
  • How volunteer certificates or service verification are issued

Orientation does not always require a meeting. For a simple or short-term project, orientation may be provided through email, written instructions, or a brief online conversation.

4. Project Assignment

We match volunteers with projects based on their interests, skills, availability, and the needs of WiseRighteous Network.

Projects may include:

Content & Media

  • Writing
  • Editing and proofreading
  • Video
  • Social media
  • Photography

Museum & Library

  • Research
  • Exhibit development
  • Digital collections
  • Educational materials

Programs & Events

  • Camp assistance
  • Event support
  • Educational programs

Administration & Operations

  • Administrative assistance
  • Graphic design
  • Translation
  • Website and technology support

Research & Index

  • Research
  • Data organization
  • Data entry
  • Righteousness Index projects

Each project should have a clear purpose and an understandable description of what the volunteer is being asked to accomplish.

5. Complete the Assignment

Volunteers may work independently or with other members of the WiseRighteous Network team.

We ask volunteers to:

  • Communicate reliably
  • Ask questions when clarification is needed
  • Respect project deadlines
  • Complete work carefully
  • Inform the project coordinator if circumstances change

We value quality and thoughtful contribution more than simply completing a large number of hours.

Volunteer Hours

Volunteer hours may be recorded for eligible service.

Depending on the project, we may record:

  • Project name
  • Date or service period
  • Hours contributed
  • Description of work
  • Completion status

For short-term projects, the estimated or approved number of hours may be established before the volunteer begins.

Volunteers should keep reasonable track of the time they spend on their assigned work.

Students and School Volunteer Programs

WiseRighteous Network welcomes middle and high school students from different schools, communities, and locations who want to contribute to our projects and document their community service.

Students may use different school, district, community-service, or volunteer platforms to record their service hours. These systems vary by school and location. Examples may include x2Vol or other platforms used by a student’s school or community.

Student volunteer assignments should have a clear purpose, understandable expectations, and an appropriate time commitment. For projects with a defined number of hours, the volunteer coordinator may establish or approve the expected service hours before the student begins.

After the student completes the assignment, the work may be reviewed to confirm that the project has been completed as expected. Once the service is reviewed and approved, WiseRighteous Network can verify the appropriate volunteer hours for the student to record through the applicable school or volunteer system.

Students should keep track of the time they spend on their assigned work. Volunteer hours are based on actual service performed and the completion of the assigned project. Working beyond the approved or reasonable scope of an assignment does not automatically result in additional volunteer hours.

If a school or volunteer program has specific documentation requirements, the student should let us know those requirements when arranging the assignment. We will provide appropriate verification of completed service when possible and when consistent with our volunteer records.

Our goal is to provide students, wherever they are located, with meaningful service opportunities while maintaining a clear, fair, and organized process for documenting their volunteer contributions.

Project Completion

When an assignment is completed, the project coordinator may review the work and confirm completion.

Depending on the nature of the service, volunteers may receive:

  • Volunteer hour verification
  • Service confirmation
  • Letter of recommendation, when appropriate
  • Volunteer certificate or recognition

Recognition is based on actual service completed and does not depend solely on the number of hours contributed.

Continuing as a Volunteer

Completing one project does not require a volunteer to continue, but volunteers who would like to remain involved are welcome to explore additional opportunities.

As volunteers become familiar with our work, they may have opportunities to contribute to different projects or take on greater responsibilities based on their interests and abilities.

Our Volunteer Expectations

We ask every volunteer to demonstrate:

Integrity
Be honest and responsible in your work.

Reliability
Follow through on commitments or communicate when circumstances change.

Respect
Treat people, ideas, information, and organizational resources respectfully.

Care
Take reasonable care with the quality and accuracy of your work.

Communication
Ask questions and communicate openly when you need assistance.

Service
Remember that volunteering is about contributing to something beyond yourself.

For Short-Term Projects

Not every volunteer needs to complete the full process.

For a simple one-time assignment, the process may be as simple as:

Interest → Project Instructions → Volunteer Work → Completion → Hours Verification

For example, a volunteer helping proofread a digital publication may receive the assignment and instructions by email and begin work without a formal orientation meeting.

For Ongoing Volunteers

For volunteers participating regularly, WiseRighteous Network may use a more complete process:

Interest → Registration → Orientation → Project Assignment → Ongoing Service → Review → Recognition

This allows us to build a long-term relationship with volunteers while keeping the process flexible.
